My Kind of Cool Aid from Cult Nails!

I want to share with you today a new polish brand, created by fellow blogger Maria from R3 Daily - Cult Nails.  I find it really inspirational that she had a dream to create her own nail polish line and then just.. did it!  I was super excited to get the chance to try out the first polish in the launch collection, and it did not disappoint.

This is two coats of Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid.  It is a grayed out lavender color with a touch of gorgeous turquoise and fuchsia shimmer.  I just had to show a close-up of this shimmer in-bottle, which you can find below!

Gorgeous shimmer (in bottle)
The shimmer is more subtle on the nail but still very pretty.  Application was really good - I used two coats to achieve full coverage.  The polish was a but thicker than other polishes but not gloopy in any way, applied smoothly and evened out very nicely on the nail.  I would like to note that if you are looking carefully above (or more obviously below), there is a bubble or two but this is not from the polish, it is from the top coat that I applied and unfortunately did not see before it had tried in.  MKoCA dried quickly, and was fairly shiny on its own without topcoat!

This polish looks very different in different light sources.  While the first two images show its more purple side, these last two show its gray side!  I was  constantly checking the polish to see what color it looked like in my current lighting, since it always seemed to chance.. haha.  I added a simple Konad tip design, using Konad Special White and plate m73.  I wore these for two days and had basically no wear on them, so they seem to hold up well also!  Overall I was very impressed this polish and can't wait for the next three colors to make their way to me!  For more information, or to purchase polishes, visit Cult Nails!

Linkin Park Concert!

One of my friends and I went to the Linkin Park concert last night - it was SO much fun!  I have to admit I am somewhat (aka majorly) naive to the concert scene - it is always bad timing or to expensive or I don't have someone to go with... so this was really awesome.  I have never been to a concert where everybody in the crowd sang at the top of their lungs to every song, haha.  I wanted to do something for the concert, and also for my KSU Wildcats who were playing (and got totally trampled, but I was expecting that) and I came up with...

Holo purple and silver!  I thought it fit perfectly for both events.  I started off with two coats of Color Club Wild at Heart, which is a gorgeous deep purple holographic.  This was my first Color Club and I love it - this will probably be my new go-to K-State color.  I was very impressed with the formula, covering excellently in two coats and with a very fast dry time.

For stamping, I used Color Club Worth the Risque, a really great silver holo that is perfect for Konad.  I used plate m64 to add the swirled pattern to all but the ring finger, and then I added the music notes with plate m73 since they were my concert nails!  I topped it with a coat of Deborah Lippmann Addicted to Speed.  I am really enjoying these nails and have gotten several compliments on them.  I think I am going to have Linkin Park songs stuck in my head for quite awhile! :)

Zoya Sarah is on Fire!

A little while ago, Sarah over at PRETTY IN DAYTON hosted a giveaway for a bottle of Zoya Sarah, from the new Flame collection, and I was one of the lucky winners!  I decided to take the collection title "Flame" to the next level and thus bring you... Zoya Sarah on Fire! :)

Zoya Sarah is described by Zoya as 'pearls of dark fuchsia, red-violet, and ruby tones in a bright sparkle finish."  I would say that description is fairly accurate.  This is an absolutely gorgeous cool-toned red, with lots of sparkle packed in there!  This is only my second Zoya ever, but I was once again totally impressed with the formula!  It was highly pigmented, with one coat almost being enough and two bringing it to full opacity.  Application was fabulous, as was dry time!  In full sun it took on a brighter red coloration, and you can really see a golden color shining through.  I would say the first picture is the most color accurate here.

I wanted to keep the Konad for this subtle and not take over the whole nail, since I was loving the color so much.  So I used OPI Glitzerland and Konad plate m73 to add little golden "flames" flickering on the sides of the nails.  It gave the mani just that little bit extra, and I thought it was pretty gorgeous!  It wore really well and I got several compliments on it.

This was a really great polish, I am so glad to have won it!  Thank you so much to Sarah, and to Zoya Nail Polish for sponsoring her giveaway!  I can't wait to share a couple more Zoya polishes I got recently with their fabulous BOGO deal - instead of my sad one little Zoya, I now have six!  Yay!  :)
