OPI Holland - Swatches and Review, Part One

I finally have the Holland collection ready for you all!  Of course by now you have probably seen it else, but don't we all like to see as many swatches as possible before we decide what we need?  :)  I have three Holland-focused posts for you, parts one and two of swatches and then a comparison post involving several of the polishes.  I already have six comparisons swatched out and ready that I thought needed to be made, but please feel free to ask for comparisons because I might not have done them yet, and if I can (have the polish) I will!  Now on to the first half of the collection - the shimmers!

Pedal Faster, Suzi!

Outdoors, shade
Soft light pink with a lot of silvery shimmer.  This is a very dainty and feminine color, and I was surprised at how much I actually liked it!  Great application, three coats for full coverage.

Outdoors, full sun
Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?

Outdoors, full sun
Red-toned purple with coppery red microshimmer.  Really great color, very similar to Zoya Tru.  A bit harder to pick out the shimmer in the shade.  Great application, 2 coats.

Outdoors, shade
I Don't Give A Rotterdam

Outdoors, shade
Light periwinkle blue with silver and gold microshimmer.  Of course I love blues, so I do love this quiet a bit.  Similar to Pedal Faster, the shimmer here is easy to see even in shade.  Once again smooth application, three coats.

Outdoors, full sun
I Have A Herring Problem

Outdoors, shade
Slightly greener version of Rotterdam, this is a warm blue with gold and silver shimmer.  I think overall I like this color slightly better, but I do love both blues.  Again three coats.

Outdoors, full sun
Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

Outdoors, Shade
Dusty dark rose with coppery-golden shimmer.  I wasn't sure how I felt about this one in the bottle but I actually liked it a lot on the nail.  The shimmer is very subtle here, but shows up nicely in the sun.  Two coats.

Outdoors, full sun
Wooden Shoe Like To Know?

Outdoors, shade
Warm chocolatey brown with coppery golden shimmer.  Once again, the shimmer is subtle but is gorgeous in the sun - it makes this one of my new favorite browns!  Two easy coats.

Outdoors, full sun
Overall Review

First off, I have to say that I love the names in this collection!  They are all so much fun.  Second, each of these polishes had really great application - all went on smooth, not too thick/thin/runny/gloopy.  And they were all either two or three coats, which is also great!  I love the shimmer in this half, both the more subtle shimmer in Gouda, Wooden Shoe and Dutch 'Ya, as well as the more bold shimmer in the blues and the pink.  These are all really great spring colors as well.  Overall really loving this collection so far!  Check back tomorrow for the second half!

And for fun, have a picture of Leo watching me while I was swatching these.  :)

  4. Love these swatches - thanks for the comparison where needed to the True collection from Zoya. Wooden Shoe looks like a cup of coco with gold flecks! Cannot wait to see the next swatch group as it has my all time fav shade in it - "Roll In the Hague."
